About me
Hi! I’m Emilia Aleksander, a registered and licensed dietitian who supports people in building a peaceful, empowered relationship with food, movement, and their bodies.
I entered clinical dietetics cautiously, as I never felt truly aligned with the shame-based clinical doctrines aiming to "fix" bodies. Having values rooted in social justice, advocacy and inclusivity, I found my clinical ’home’ in working with eating disorder and disordered eating populations. My professional background spans the continuum of eating disorder treatment with experience in residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient levels of care.
I’m an Iowa native and have lived experience with the severe lack of eating disorder resources in our state - one of the weakest for treatment access in our country. This ongoing gap in care is what led me to pursue a career in eating disorder treatment. My professional mission is to offer resources back to my underserved community.
